To switch over to keyboard mode, you tap a small physical button in the upper-right corner; while you're in trackpad Acer RL100, the button is lit up a bright blue. The keyboard is a bit overwhelming at first, due to the multitude of buttons and their unusual layout.

Moving from bottom to top, you'll find Acer RL100 full QWERTY keyboard, a line of punctuation keys, a line of number keys, and then two lines of media playback buttons. In lieu of volume buttons, you get a rose-gold volume wheel on the Acer RL100 left corner.

But for those who still believe in the concept of a home theater PC, the Acer Aspire Revo will provide a fairly well-conceived reward for keeping the faith. It's ironic that the Revo looks so much like the Slim version of Sony's PlayStation 2 game console Acer RL100 the Acer system is effectively in competition with the newer Acer RL100 3.

Like the PS2, the Revo can stand on end, or you can detach the removable stand and Acer RL100 it down flat. The irony comes in the Revo 's value proposition.


You can only stream content to the PS3, it won't transmit across a network. It also doesn't support the full breadth of Acer RL100 services and formats available to a Windows system.

What you do get is a unique touch-pad input device that makes a respectable attempt to conquer the input dilemma that has Acer RL100 plagued living-room PCs. Though you can certainly use it in its landscape orientation, this Revo has really been designed to be shown off upright.

Acer includes a stand that simply slots into a groove in the machine. Though its chassis is constructed entirely of plastic, the Revo feels solid and Acer RL100 definitely one of Acer RL100 better-built slim PCs around. The base, which simply slots into the main unit, is reinforced and weighted with metal.
