Sure is a complicated world this linux thing, but i like it! Expecially because you always find someone like you to help! Thanks again! Congratulations on getting it! I converted an old windows box to ubuntu, but I haven't ATI 43xx able to get the wireless card recognized. I feel that I've ATI 43xx everything mentioned in the forums, but I haven't had any luck.

Thank you! Somewhere it was suggested to try wl, but I'm not having ATI 43xx luck there either.

Also, the suggestions made by wildmanne39 which seemed to work for everyone else, didn't have any effect when I tried them. I'm ready to ATI 43xx anything. Thanks in advance. I went and got the tar to build the driver myself since its not easy for me to get to our ATI 43xx ethernet connection personal reasons of course.

So i started to try and build the driver, but it said i was missing some build packages, so i went back to windows and searched and found that i could get the packages from a livecd. I dont have a live cd,but i do have a live usb. So how do i get the packages from my usb onto my current install so that i can build the driver? Or, am i just doing this totally wrong as in does the windows install come with the driver and im just overlooking it. Open the file browser and look for the Usb stick in the left panel.

Now assuming you have a b chip the STA driver will not work on The first packages might be enough to get some funtionality for the ATI 43xx however the part that gives full wireless is ATI 43xx available on the CD or USB. The needed package is 'firmware-binstaller. So to get that you will either have to plug a cable in or go to a different computer and download the attached file. I am looking for the install instructions for the file and will post ATI 43xx later.

Found them here. I have a problem, I've installed the STA- drivers but for some reason it still refuses to work My lspci -vnn grep 14e4: Alright, i have a bcm on a gateway mx laptop, fresh install But, it worked, so i took the computer back to my room. Well, now it will recognize the wireless if i enter through hidden networks, but it doesnt show the available networks, and the wireless wont connect it keeps saying i am putting in the wrong password.

What ATI 43xx i try to get this going right?

Download WICD wireless manager 2. Follow These Instructions The issue occured after some suggested updates from the Ubuntu graphical ATI 43xx tool.

The network key was properly typed in and was working well on another system so the error Connection Failed: Bad Password made no sense. After a lot of try outs and a lot of readings and tests I finally got the cause of the weird Bad Password errors produced by wicd Weirdly enought, somehow the Ubuntu package update tool has installed the default gnome network-manager package. All I had to do is completely remove all occurance ATI 43xx network-manager packages installed on the Ubuntu system, ATI 43xx issuing the commands: My wireless card is the BCM Using that information and this guide https:
